Banana Trees and Yoga Mats! Missionary Email June 8, 2026

Hola!
I did it!  I made it to Peru!!!! And it's beautiful!  There are banana trees on our street! And flowers EVERYWHERE that look like they are straight out of a barbie movie. The food here is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! God has spoiled me absolutely rotten.

I got here really early Wednesday morning then got picked up from the Airport by the Hermanas CAPS (STLs of the STLs) then we went to the mission home and met everyone, including my AWESOME trainer, Hermana Bulkeley!

I am in AWE of her. She is so encouraging, her Spanish is fantastic and she gives me hope that I will be cool like her one day. That day will probably need to come soon though... we get a LOT of Hermanas here next transfer and the odds that I will be training straight outta training are very high.

We have found 12 people this week, 2 baptisms, and a whole ton of miracles. We met our friend Sol in the park and we got to run into her again and taught her a whole lesson! Another miracle this week was when we prayed to know where to look for people and found a nice man about 2 minutes later and taught him on the street for 30 minutes! God is so involved!

Here in Peru we have Pensionistas, members that feed the missionaries every week. MONTHS ago I found out that one of my friend's, Paloma, her mama is a Pensionista in my mission. God is so good. Out of all the missions, all the zones, areas, all the wards, in the world... my FIRST area and Sandra, Paloma's mom, is my pensionista. God is so good and I WAS SO EXCITED when I found out!!!

Yesterday was a voting day for Peru, so church was illegal... so we stayed home and called all of our friends and taught them about the sacrament and that was their church for the day. Very different than how I thought my first Sunday would be in Peru but VERY memorable and fun. We just chilled on our yoga mats for a couple hours on the phone!

My Spanish is NOT terrible! I can testify, pray, read scriptures, and understand a LOT of what people say. I usually double check with my companion that I understood what was said in the conversation but THE GIFT OF TONGUES IS REAL AND GOD HAS GOT ME!!!

I love you all so much! God loves you even more! If you're thinking about going on a mission I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!!! This has already been one of my greatest blessings!

All my love!
