Church was illegal but Conference wasn't! October 5, 2026
Buenas días todos! Como estan?!?!
I would love to start this by saying the Heavenly Father is SO smart. During elections in Peru, church is illegal. Its really not very smart for missionaries to got outside during election day. Heavenly Father is so smart because this time, on Peruvian election day, we had General Conference. Nobody in the whole-wide-world had Sacrament Meeting, and all the Peruvians get to watch Conference like everyone else.
I hope you all had a great Conference and so many questions of your heart were answered.
These are some of my biggest take aways from Conference:
-Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ love and trust me.
-My calling right now is so ridiculously needed and sacred.
-Don't gamble. Don't waste your time betting on potential futures when you could be building yours.

-Heavenly Father is SO aware of me and my family
-There is absolutely nothing like watching Conference knowing that your family is watching too on the other side of the world. But EVEN MORE SO there's nothing like watching Conference knowing the people you are teaching AND YOUR CONVERTS are watching it too. That is the bestest gift from Heavenly Father
-I do my best everyday to invite others to come unto Christ, but the Lord is inviting ALL of us to live in a Higher and Holier way. To keep the Commandments with all of our Heart, repent often, and to taste of His joy! This Conference has just recommited my heart to this work. I will pray the Lord helps me recommit my heart every day of my mission.
Also we got transfer news...
I'm STAYING IN BREÑA!!! And I am training a brand new missionary! I won't meet her until Wednesday but I'm so excited to learn with her and learn FROM her!
Last p-day I went to the Temple with Angela!!! Words can't describe what it was like to go with her for her first time in the House of The Lord. The Temple President and his wife came to us and shared some special messages with us, it was just so perfect. And I feel spoiled rotten because I get to stay here with Angela for at least 1 more transfer. I hope we're friends for the rest of my life.
Okay I'm going to repeat myself... THERE IS ABSOLUTELY NOTHING LIKE FRIENDS AND CONVERTS SENDING YOU SELFIES OF HENRY B EYRING ON THE TV. Truly Christmas came early! I'm so grateful for translators! I'm so grateful for Gospel Stream and YouTube! Holy freaking smokes!
This week we were walking a part of our area we are the least familiar with and we took a wrong turn. So we had to turn around and walk back. My companion, who was navigating, immediately felt that we got turned around for a moment for a very divine reason, and she was right! We were exactly where we needed to be in at exactly the right time for us to walk down a street and hear "HERMANAS" from the other sidewalk. We had a long conversation with this man who's has members in his family and grew up reading The Book of Mormon! And now we get to teach him! And we had been praying for hard for a miracle like that on that day... I'm sure his family had been praying for something similar too!
Sometimes we get a little turned around. Sometimes it may feel like a set back or just another mistake we've made... but Heavenly Father has a perfect plan and He uses OUR imperfections to teach us. He uses our imperfections to get us exactly where we need to go. We have the Spirit to reroute us. And eventually, we all figure out where God was leading us all along. Sometimes its quiet... sometimes a man screams "HERMANAS" and you find out instantly. But Heavenly Father is directing that plan you co-create with Him. And He knows everything. And He loves you.
My invitation to all of you this week is to read The Book of Mormon and to look for the "Divine Appointments" talked about in Conference this weekend. I hope you listened to Conference... especially if one of the questions of your heart was:
"Heavenly Father, do you see me?"
He does.
"Do you know me?"
He does.
"Are you proud of me?"
He is.
And if you felt called to grow and change then Heavenly Father must trust you a LOT!
