Lay down your Weapons! August 3, 2026

Hola hola hola everyone! I hope everyone is having a phenomenal day! I miss you all so much!

This week was pretty special, Heavenly Father really directed us to know where to go and who to talk to. There was one night I had a prompting, a few minutes before we needed to head home for the night, to go check the church to make sure it was locked. The church was very much locked… but on the way home we met a man in the street. We invited him to church and our weekly ward activity and he told us that he's watched a lot of people go to church and never knew that he was invited too. He came to church this week… and the ward activity. My heart is so full.

We met a lot of really amazing people this week, I could go on and on but I NEED to tell you about my experience with this man. I'm going to call him “Carl”
A few days ago we went to Carl's house in hopes to talk to his wife but he answered the door and chatted instead. We asked him if he's talk to missionaries before, if he had a Book of Mormon, and what he believed about God. This man and his door seemed really familiar to me. It felt like Deja vu from before my mission… I don't exactly know…
He looked at El Libro de Mormon in my companion’s hands and said that he's skimmed it before, along with every other book of scripture from all the other religions. He declared, almost painfully:
“I've concluded, God doesn’t exist.”
That broke my heart. He looked a little brokenhearted too. And that filled me with some fire.

I looked him in the eyes and told him that God is real. He is our Heavenly Father. Jesus Christ is our Savior and They both love us so much. I told him that They both love HIM so much. The Spirit was so strong. This is a man really does want to know the truth. He's been looking for answers. He agreed to meet with us this next week. He felt some hope. Heavenly Father is ai God of happy endings. And this man has no idea how loved he is by our Heavenly Father. I hope he continues to let us teach him.

When I first put in my papers, I was really scared I wasn't going to be able to teach simply. I really love this gospel, I usually get pretty excited when talking about it and that can be a bit overwhelming sometimes. I was very worried about this. But then I was called to speak Spanish and my prayers were answered. I HAVE to teach simply! I don't have the WORDS otherwise. My Spanish has really improved this week though, prayers are getting answered. But we have a friend who has a LOT of logistical questions about the church… and we tried to answer all of his questions simply during a lesson this week but our every answer lead to another question. He was very excited to learn. He really wanted someone to teach a little less simply… and the Spirit really helped me. I helped lay out the timeline of The Book of Mormon compared to the Bible, explained the different plates and who compiled them… etc. It was really very fun. I'm glad I don't do that very often, but I had a GREAT TIME.

One of my biggest blessings is my companion. Truly. This transfer is absolutely flying by because we are having so much fun together. She's incredibly Christlike, I hope to become a bit more like her because she's a lot like Him. I've been learning so much from her.

Alma 24:15-21
Burying weapons of war. During the war chapters of The Book of Mormon, weapons were thrown down at the feet of leaders when armies were surrendering as a plea for mercy. When the Anti-Nephi-Lehis were surrendering their wicked habits to Heavenly Father they buried their weapons as a plea for mercy and forgiveness. As a representation of their new COVENANT! They would rather die than sin again. They became a new people.

I'd like to invite everyone to pray about what your weapon of war is. Ask God for help to bury it and become new through the Atonement of Jesus Christ. I promise as we all strive to become more like Jesus Christ the pains and the mistakes of the past will be forgiven. God will help us become and remain a happier and holier people.

Shout out to HOLDEN AND DUBI FOR GETTING ENGAGED LAST WEEK!!! I'M SO FREAKING EXCITED FOR THEM!!!

You are all so loved and so prayed for. Heavenly Father is AWARE OF YOU AND WHAT YOU NEED!!! Go spread His love!
