"See y'all in a year..." October 19, 2026
Buenos días todos! Espero se encuentren muy bien!
I'm training Hermana Molina, and she's the best! Training is really fun but definitely not easy and thats okay. My prayers have been ever-more sincere this week just pleading for help through all of it.
Guess what...
Heavenly Father loves to answers prayers.
After p-day on Monday night before leaving our house we hit our knees and pleaded to find people who have been prepared to hear this message. Then we walked across town to an incorrect address, perfectly part of His plan. On the way home from there I felt a very distinct impression to open the Book of Mormon that was in my hand.
Immediately afterwards we and a nice man in wheelchair mutually decided it was time to chat and later we all mutually decided it was our miracle.
We gave him a Book of Mormon, we taught him about Christ in 3 Ne.11 and he told us his story and very much appreciated that we just listened... he texted us later that night and told us that he never wants to forget our conversation or how he felt so seen by Heavenly Father.
During our conversation on the street with him a man behind me said: "Woah! Missionaries!" In English... which is scary sometimes haha! Turns out we were outside his house and that man ALSO really wanted to come to church.
Huge miracles for me. Huge miracles for them.
This week we put 2 amazing people on baptismal date! Our friend Tomas is best friends with Manuel, our new convert. Tomas was actually who refered Manuel to us... crazy story. And Tomas was baptized in our church in the USA a LONG time ago but then he moved before he was confirmed?!?!? So... we're trying to trace down his records... he might be getting baptized again...
The other is our friend Jhon! Heavenly Father has been preparing him for a LONG time now. He is so ready. He loves the message of the restoration, he LOVES the plan of Salvation and he really wants to be a worthy priesthood holder to bless his family! Heavenly Father writes the best stories!
We had a lesson with Dionicia, she comes to church every single week, her daughter is serving a mission right now and her son is a recent convert. She knows she'll get baptized one day, but she told us that sometimes she doesn't quite understand why she needs to...
It was one of the most Spiritual lessons of my mission. I'm only sharing this because maybe it will help one of you. I asked her if she misses her daughter. Of course she said yes. Then we talked about how it's okay to be apart right now because she knows that her daughter is learning and growing and having the experiences that she needs to right now, but it's okay because one day she'll come home.
Baptism is just the promises we make to our Heavenly Father to tell Him:
"When I am done having this beautiful earthly experience, I want to go home to YOU."
I am different after that lesson.
This week was really good, not easy but it probably wouldn't have been as fantastic if it was easy.
Welcome to the part when I scream at you to read your Book of Mormon👍 (with a side of "Repent ye, repent ye")
Alma the younger was a punk. He was kinda the worst. His dad literally established a church and baptized SO many people... then his kiddo and his friends went around trying to destroy it... and they were pretty good at it.
Heavenly Father sees so much potential in the destroyers.
So He sent an Angel... and Alma was struck dumb for a couple days. When he woke up he was a different man. He and the sons of Mosiah pleaded for the opportunity to share the truthfulness of the Gospel with everyone they had lead away AND the Lamanites.
My favorite part of this story is everyone else. As Alma was struck dumb, the rest of the church of God was fasting and praying for him. This punk was trying to destroy their church... but they fasted and prayed for him. THOSE are some good disciples of Christ. And when he changed, they let him! They TRUSTED him afterwards... enough that the PLATES WERE PASSED DOWN TO HIM FROM KING MOSIAH! The Brass plates, Nephi's plates, the Jaredite plates, the Urim and Thumimn and Laban's sword now all in the hands of the High Priest and Chief Judge that used to be a punk teenager.
When we Repent, Heavenly Father really does forgive us. He trusts us again. He sees so much more in us than we see in ourselves. Even when we are being punks. Sometimes He may allow some harder circumstances change us into High Priests and Judges. He knows how to get us where we need to be.
My invitation to you is the same as always, READ the Book of Mormon! And to be like Alma and allow the Lord to change you. But also be like the Members of the Church in this story and to pray for those who have hurt you, forgive those who have scarred you and to let people change.
"As I have loved you, love one another."
Emphasis on CHRIST LOVES YOU!
You are all so loved and prayed for.
READ YOUR LIBRO!
